Provincial information

The synopsis includes 85 regulatory changes aimed at conserving wildlife and their habitats, enhancing the quality of data collected, protecting at-risk species and livestock.

In the event that there is a need to change a regulation in 2016/17 or 2017/18, the online version will be updated with any changes highlighted in red and listed in a corrections poster.

In preparing the synopsis, the Province consulted with a wide range of stakeholders including conservation and hunting organizations, local government and First Nations. The Province also posted proposed changes for public comment on its angling, hunting, and trapping public engagement website. The site has now been updated with decision statements for each of the proposed regulation changes at: http://apps.nrs.gov.bc.ca/pub/ahte/hunting

Electronic-based resident hunting licenses are available online.

Moose Hunting in the (Region 6) the Skeena North Region

Please visit our FB page for a brochure that was developed to help hunters interpret the moose hunting regulations for the north part of the Skeena Region. It was designed to be printed and folded into a 3-sided brochure. The summary of the northern moose regulations on page 71 of Hunting and Trapping Synopsis covers the new regulations, however this brochure is more comprehensive.
